take be back 80 years.
It seems like almost every conversation I have with my 85 year old grandma I always end up saying, "I wish I grew up in your era." She smiles and says, "It was fantastic."

Between drooling over Ginger Rodgers' dance moves and knowing Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing script by the age of 5, I had the whole family guessing what I would turn out like.
In honor of my inner 5 year old self that is still stunned by Ginger, I made an outfit that puts a fun modern twist on the early century.

as for Shakespeare? 12 years later and it's still my favorite.

one step farther in pursuing my dream.
oh my wonderful readers I have good news.
Today, while shopping at a small boutique
that has exquisite little ethnic pieces
I started talking to the owner who wants me to become a buyer for his store!
For those of you who haven't noticed, I am going to fashion school next year to become a fashion buyer for a store like Saks or Neiman Marcus, etc.
So this is a pretty big step and will look so good on applications and what not.
So, considering that I leave for Belize on Wednesday, he wants that to be my first "mission".
I also am planning on going to Kenya or a nearby country end of the year/beginning of 2009.
My latest purchase:
it's really lightweight and breezy, perfect for the beach.

Italy, the first of many photo posts.
Well ladies! it was a very relaxing trip. I refuse to get personal and these blogs, but I can say it was successful in more than just one way. Lets just say I finished what needed to be done. I promised plenty of street style, but that is where the disappointment comes in. I didn't get that much done! Honestly, there was nothing AMAZING. It was Carnival Week in Italy, where people dress up...as you will see in the photos...so that was rather distracting. I will post a few times a day with different photos and what not, but all of you wanting photography, I had no problem finding that, just nothing that blows me away.

First of many lovely photographs...

I couldnt get her attention, so I just snapped the photo from behind, because thats all I really wanted anyways.
I hope you all had a good week!
ps- can someone please explain The Catcher In The Rye fascination? I hated it. hahahaha. I know there is symbolism. someone fill me in pleaseeee!
