Just want to announce I'll be moving to New York City the end of August

and I'll be starting the blog back up around that time.

This means I'll be in New York for Fashion Week....for the next 4 or 5 years! AHH.

Just want to say thanks for being so supportive and for all the sweet emails and comments.

I got an apartment on 5 Ave and now I'm looking for a job/internship to start sometime in October.

is not feeling "over dressed" every day like I did in high school.

The dress and heels are new purchases from this past weekend.

These shoes are so comfortable! The perfect 4" sandal for summer.

I was SO excited to receive this moto jacket in the mail this past week via ebay.

It is a great fit and is perfectly distressed.

I can't get enough of it.

I actually have pictures of my boyfriend trying it on, but they are pretty embarrassing so I'm not going to get into that....

I also get to break out my Prada peep toes for spring!

I got them last fall, and they weren't very weather appropriate,

so now is the perfect time for them!

Chicago this weekend! I'll update before I leave,

I am currently laying on the couch with a HORRIBLE cold.

Luckily, I got to check out a great boutqiue called Cake Boutique.

I forgot my camera, so I didn't get to snap any photos,

but the interior was so perfect. I tried on a few things, but nothing was

exactly what I was looking for.

Anyways, snapped this shot a minute ago of my new boots and the part of the view from the house.

I shocked everyone when they saw there was no heel!

I needed some great gray boots, though.

I am currently to be hunting down the Catherine Malandrino ruffle sleeve dress in smoke.

Apparently it is pretty rare, but it is seriously BEAUTIFUL.

This is what I wore to out to dinner this evening.

Nothing new, but I really do love this dress.

The fullness of the skirt is so much fun to play with.

It makes me feel very girly/feminine.

I attended my first FGI event this evening and it was a blast!

It was a great chance to meet some amazing milinary designers from Cleveland.

The first photo is of two of my favorite hats of the evening

and the second is my beautiful sister Anna showing off her purchase.

My mom and I plan on visiting the designers showrooms/studios to get some custom hats made!

OBSERVATION & a new obsession with gray

I have also realized my current love for everything gray or yellow.

TEXTURE & contrast

I bought this amazing jacket this weekend.

I automatically pictured it with these silky American Rag pants.

The texture of the wooly jacket and silky pleats are meant to be together.

I have a big list of things this jacket is going to make even better!

I also learned in Color Theory class that yellow & black is the strongest contrast possible.

That pretty much makes me only want to wear black and yellow for the rest of my life.

I'm also going to get around to visiting all of my favorite blogs and commenting back everyone.

I had a little mini road trip to Tennessee this weekend to visit all of my friends.

While I'm disappointed I missed out on fun fashion parties in NYC,

Imagine my shock when I got a slip in the mail saying I had to come

pick up a parcel addressed to me shipped all the way from Japan!

I then remembered my brother and sister were sending me a foreign birthday present.

They got me this amazing "insant photo" camera!!

I had to share. I am so excited to play with it.

Even the packaging was cool!

Sorry I've been so gone lately.

It has been 65 degrees here, so I've been livin' it up.

I picked up this skirt yesterday! It was the last one, and it was in my size.

Night at the Orchestra

Last night, after a long day of work and school, I met my family downtown to see the Cleveland Orchestra.

For all of you classical music fans, you probably know that Cleveland has the best orchestra in the world,

and I mean that literally.

The building is also another part of the experience.

I tried to grab a snapshot of my brother and his girlfriend

(who are home for a little while!) to show the general idea,

but it doesn't even begin to show the beauty of it.

It's true. Today I had a relapse- I took self portraits.

I used to do this when I was first learning to use my SLR and I didn't have a willing model, but my

brother's girlfriend has the most incredible lens I've ever seen.

She let me use it for the day. So I played. For hours.

Oh, and driving to school this morning my car told me it was -15 degrees out.

So, as a result, no outfit posts.

Well, I'm back to Cleveland and it's 7 degree as a high weather.

SO bummed, but I'm happy to be home and starting my new semester.

I just wanted to say thanks to everyone for the kind emails (and comment!) concerning my safety with the earthquake.

It hit in San Jose, and I was on the west cost, in Papagayo. It didn't affect us at all,

but our prayers are with the families of those who died.

On a lighter note, I need to do something with my hair!

The ocean and pool water was everything but nice to it, so it is currently a tangled mess.

I was thrilled when I opened Elle and saw this editorial.

I love the length & layers, but I think I'll save the bangs for a little later-I have to work myself into this one.

I decided to do a little shopping yesterday and I came up with these two items.

I was so excited to find this skirt, even though it is about 4 sizes to big for my waist.

Oh well! Easily fixable.

I am also really happy about my woven shrug thing. I honestly don't even know what to call it.

So perfect for Ohio's 6 month long winters.

I'm also wearing the most incredible oversized black beaded choker here. I didn't get a good shot of it, though.

I'm so excited to announce the arrival of What I Wore Today!

I was contacted many months ago by the wonderful editor, Ellie, who wanted me to be apart of the book.

I recieved a few emails and comments from people who said they got their book and saw me in it.

I decided to run into Urban Outfitters, and to my delight, there it was!

Lauren and I flipped through and found a few pictures of myself and many other stylish ladies.

Yesterday consisted of going to eating at Earwax Cafe,
walking around Wicker Park as it snowed, meeting up with Laurens friend
and going to the lake to see the gorgeous view as it snowed.
Well, the view would have been amazing had it not been -1000 degrees and
I was not dressed for the occasion.
After, we went to the sketchiest diner and had grilled cheese.
Naturally.

Tea in Chicago, day 2

So, I thought I wasn't going to post while here, but I am.
Saturday is considered one of the best days of my life, hands down.
That's that.

Yesterday consisted of getting lunch at Bourgeois Pig and
then tea at Argo Tea. Shown in the photo is my Hibiscus Apple blend.

What I'm getting at is I've totally fallen in love with the city.

Today I am wearing a hat by Raffaello Bettini, an ethnic necklace from World Market, dress from Marshalls "The Cube", tights from UO, a bag bought in a random shop in Assisi, Italy, and boots from...well I don't know.

What is it about Monday that is so terrible? I dread them, honestly.

I went back to Marshalls "The Cube" with some gift cards in hand, and bought this simple dress

that is super comfortable. I loved the sleeves, so it was a simple choice. I also bought a jacket with zippers and such, but that is for another post.

These gorgeous little things came in the mail right before I left for Thanksgiving.

Big shout out to the ebay store, Lucy-and-Ethel (what an amazing name) for the amazing find.

They have a great online selection with tons of goodies-my eye is on a Proenza dress they have up right now.

Be sure to check them out!

I was really interested to see what the quality of these shoes were.

I've always heard people rave about the quality of Prada, but never really had a

chance to wear them and really get a good look at them.

Everything from the stitching to the gold buckle is beautiful.

The distressed white-washed wooden heel and cloth bow is such an incredible contrast.

Around the House, part II

As promised, I photographed my Aunt's beautiful home.

It is decorated in with a mix of rustic americana and european furniture and fixtures.

The house is really a perfect balance of my Aunt and Uncle's lifestyles.

He loves to be out on their farm with the animals, and she loves to shop in

Florence and Paris and collects vintage Dior and Chanel.

And yes, those are deer antler chandelieres.

I will share more of my photography in another post!

I feel like I'm constantly running around these last few days (with the exeption of Monday).

Things have been crazy.

But, I did recieve these shoes, along with another pair, in the mail a few days ago.

I'm heading down to my Aunt's for Thanksgiving this evening.

Her house is so beautiful-perfect for some awesome photography.

I'll share whatever photos I take.

Today I am wearing an Anthropologie skirt, Jcrew button down, Sam Edelman booties, and a necklace from Francesca's Collections.

The fabric of this skirt is so unusual- and I don't have anything in this color! How refreshing.

I did some damage yesterday when I went shopping with my mom.

Oops! Good thing I'm working 30 hours next week. Should pay part of my new debt.

I also receieved a few new pairs of shoes in the mail today.

I'll be sure to show those later!

Today I wore Zara shoes (little monsters!), cardigan/wrap from Italy, vintage fur jacket (my Aunts from the 70's) and a new necklace from...World Market?

I spent the whole afternoon at World Market a few days ago.

My iPhone is filled with photos of future items that will fill my apartment.

I also make frequent trips to fill up on my European goodies that aren't so generic.

As seen below, the ground is quite covered with snow now.

That didn't stop me from wearing my infamous monters with open toes and laces!

It was the last gorgeous day here in Cleveland for a very, very long time.

I will mourn it's loss.

Besides the original Mary Cassatt sketch, this painting behind me is my favorite piece of art in the house.

I remember the day it hit me that we actually had gorgeous art hanging around my home.

Growing up ,it is always there. It becomes like apart of the wall that you just look past.

I finally did a tour of all the gorgeous things hanging on our walls

and can't wait to decorate my own place with things similar.

Speaking of my own place-I'm looking for summer internships. If anyone knows of anything that might be interesting and you are willing to share, please shoot me an email! Fashion related, of course.

Today I wore a vintage jacket, H&M pants (looking to replace because they're fading), jcrew knit shirt, moms leather gloves, and (NEW!!) boots from Ninewest bought at ShoeMega Shop.

I promised new shoes, and here they are! I bought them from Marshall's ShoeMega Shop, which is quite honestly the best place for quality shoes on a budget. The buyers make sure to buy quality shoes for the ultimate shoe lover and offer them for the best price.

I highly recommend everyone find your nearest location here and visit ASAP.

I even went the night before I left for New York Fashion Week for last minute shoes and found mulitple that I ended up wearing. hah!

Well today I went to class in the afternoon, and ate dinner with my friend (and up and coming designer) Michael. We did a little shopping then I came home

and cuddled up on the couch and indulged in my guilty pleasure.

Who knew I'd ever wear jeans again.

Luckily, my friend is a denim genius and made these for me.

Everything from paint, shoe polish, razor blades and anything else you can think of happened to these jeans, and I can't get enough of them.

I am apart of launching a denim line, which will be available online soon!

They're like art, seriously.

Aren't those boots the most insane combination of clown shoes/stripper boots? They're perfect.

Also, I've recently noticed the lack of snake skin "cage" like heels on my shoe wall.

That must be fixed as soon as possible.

Oh, and that dress would probably look terrible on me, but that doesn't keep me from appriciating/coveting it.

After class on Friday, I headed over to my favorite vintage store, Chelsea's for a pick me up.

After 5 minutes of browsing around, I came across this little gem!

Gold studs line the neck, cuffs and middle section, making this the most incredible dress EVER.

The draping is another amazing factor, but you can't see it much in the photo.

My mom is shown here pinning it so I can hem it because it is a little long on my short self.

New neckalce-sorry I don't have better photos. I was running a little late to work this morning.

Once again, I am so into choker neckalces right now, it's insane.

Someone recently gave me a bunch of their old jewlery, and there

is a ribbon choker amongst everything that I'm dying to wear.

Today is one of those days that just doesn't end, you know?

Luckily for me, these Nine West robotic like heels are super comfy.

They look much more space-like/futureistic when looked at head on, promise.

Also, who knew I'd ever buy closed toed heels?

Strange, but the color and patent detail made them irresistible.

I have been so bad at updating lately- sorry!

School projects/visiting friends home from college has kept me busy.

I don't think I've shown this dress on the blog yet, which is weird

considering I wear it constantly

It is that "easy" dress that you thrown on and it just works.

It is by Nanette Lepore and I picked it up in New York last month.

Oh, and some people emailed/commented about this coat.

It is by Guess! I didn't realize I loved their coats this much.

Now I am going to crawl in bed and watch Will & Grace.

I have been looking for a way to wear my moms long leather gloves.

Cleveland has quite possibly the greatest vintage stores ever.

Luckily for me, they are all within the block of my new fashion school,

so I will get to stock up on inexpensive vintage during lunch hour.

I went over to my favorite place, Chelsea's, after work one day with a friend.

I ended up with this incredible red & black number. It was hanging up real high, but I saw the

pocket detailing and fished it down.

My friend found a great patchwork skirt that is so gypsy like, it is actually appealing.

Snapped this really fast before work.

Everyone has been staring/commenting on my shoes.

I'm not one for makeup, really.

I only wear it if I think the outfit needs drama.

But this fall, I'm branching out and experimenting.

In New York, my mom and I went into a great little store that carried my favorite, Bobbi Brown.

I told the makeup artist I wanted a dark wine color after seeing it on the F/W runways.

She picked up this color, and my mom and I were both so delighted with the result on me.

For fall, I will be doing bold brows, dark lips, and minimal eyes.

Mineral powder works magic, too.

Katerina Bocci NY Couture Fashion week 2008

Mom and I made our way over to Couture Fashion week while all the crazy things were happening over at Bryant Park on Saturday night.

We skipped our after party to be under the white tents later on that evening.

Katerina Bocci's dresses were beautiful. She used a lot of jewel tones and chiffon (not really shown. bad photos!), which I always love. Some of the things were not me at all, and the casting was a bit off, but hey, shes up and coming, right?

Thanks again for everyone being supportive. Things are going to be slow for awhile while I get myself together. If you have anything you need answered, try emailing me. That seems to be a lot easier these days. Maybe even some surprises up my sleeve....
